We can’t get enough of aesthetic tea bars, and a brand new one by the folks behind Hvala has just opened in ION Orchard! Ingen Kyoto is a tranquil Kyoto-style teahouse, with an aesthetic Japanese-inspired space and tatami room.

The teahouse oozes zen vibes, with mere 28 seats for the most intimate tea drinking experience. There’s some 200 specialty teas you can choose from, and you can sit by the bar for the best view of the artisans preparing and brewing the teas by hand.

Ingen Kyoto is more upscale than its sister brand, Hvala, and seasonal tea brews start from $12.80 to a whopping $126.80, with a variety of green, white, yellow, black, oolong teas and more from regions like Kyoto, Saitama, Shizuoka, Miyazaki and Kumamoto, among others. You even have the option of bringing your own tea leaves for them to brew for you for a “corkage fee” of $12.80.

Aside from teas, they also offer a range of beautifully-plated handcrafted desserts. The current dessert menu includes the likes of Ichigo Parfait ($20.80), Kakigori ($19.80), Kinkan ($16.80), Unmori ($16.80) and more. For the full menu, see here. There’s even a retail corner where you can shop, featuring gorgeous teaware, glassware, leather goods and fragrances, just to name a couple.
