Tired of paying exorbitant prices of nearly $100 per person for a good quality wagyu buffet in Singapore, especially after GST and service charge? We found a new wagyu specialty buffet restaurant in Singapore that serves only some of the best A5 wagyu, with no service charge; and it might just be one of the most worth-it wagyu buffets you’ll ever find.
Yuiitsu is a newly-opened wagyu buffet restaurant in Serangoon, and they serve only A5 Takazaki beef from a private farm as part of their wagyu buffet, a breed of wagyu that’s not commonly found in Singapore. The beef is also flown in every month; chilled, not frozen, and this really makes a difference in the beef you’ll see served at your table, especially in the beef’s darker colour and melt-in-your-mouth texture.
The A5 wagyu comes in a platter of 200g at a time, and you can order as many servings as you can eat! The A5 wagyu comes in a variety of cuts, like yakiniku cuts of chuck short rib, flap and shabu shabu slices. Out of all the cuts that we had, our favourite has got to be the chuck short rib: it has the most intense marbling compared to the other leaner cuts, and is so melt-in-your-mouth, it’s almost like eating a slab of butter—wagyu lovers will definitely enjoy this cut.
For something a little less fatty, the shabu shabu cuts have a good fat-to-meat ratio and cook in mere seconds. We especially love this dipped in their onsen egg sauce (also free to order as part of the buffet). We’re also told that by end-February, the restaurant will be serving exclusively Zabuton cuts of A5 wagyu beef, which is even more marbled and more flavourful than any other cut. Note that for all cuts of wagyu, you’re only recommended to cook them until medium well for the most ideal taste and texture, any more than that and your meat will be overcooked.
They also have other premium beef cuts like karubi, ox tongue, katarosu (chuck roll), katabara (brisket); as well as other meats like Iberico pork belly, pork jowl, lamb chops and chicken. As for seafood, you can get grilled oysters, squid, garlic butter prawns and scallops. Take a break from all the rich wagyu with sides like garlic fried rice, ebi tempura, chicken yakitori, grilled salmon, snow crab stick, salads and more. Though let’s be honest: if you’re at Yuiitsu, you’re coming for the A5 wagyu experience, and you’ve only got 90 minutes for the buffet, so we suggest skipping the sides and going straight for more of that wagyu.
When you feel the richness from all the wagyu starting to get to you, you can order some alcohol that’s surprisingly quite affordably priced as well: from $15 per glass of sake, or from $25 for a bottle of sake/umeshu/shochu, as well as 1-for-1 beers from just $5 each! Otherwise, their free flow cold/hot green tea is also available from $2.50 per person. At Yuiitsu, you’re going to want to save some space for dessert, as their ice cream is also of premium quality, sourced from artisanal ice cream brand in Singapore. Each diner is entitled to 1 complimentary tub of ice cream after their meal, and they can choose from flavours like Yuzu Sorbet, Matcha or Sea Salt Caramel.
Yuiitsu’s buffets are priced as follows for a 90-minute seating:
Deluxe – $59.80+ per person (everything on the menu, except A5 wagyu beef)
Premium $79.80+ per person (everything on the menu, including unlimited A5 wagyu beef)
There’s no service charge added, only GST, which makes Yuiitsu’s wagyu buffet probably one of the most value-for-money in Singapore, given the variety of unlimited premium dishes you can order, plus as much A5 wagyu you can possibly eat.
Is it worth it? Our verdict is yes, especially if you’re someone who can eat lots of heavily marbled wagyu in a single sitting without feeling too gelat. Service at Yuiitsu is also pretty fast, with our dishes coming out within 5-10 minutes after ordering, so you can be assured that you’ll be able to eat as many plates of wagyu as possible within your dining period. Wagyu lovers, you’ll want to save Yuiitsu for the next time those wagyu buffet cravings hit! Yuiitsu will also soon be opening a retail corner, so you can get their fresh wagyu beef and other items to-go and enjoy them at home for gatherings or festive occasions.
