Artbox Thailand moved to a new location last November, shifting every few months and now has found a temporary abode in Chatuchak. The famous night market is well known for featuring local artisans and bringing aspiring designers together.
Its charm lies in the quirkiness of the whole place – unlike usual markets in Bangkok, the items sold here are usually one-of-a-kind and handmade. Housed within giant metal containers are thoughtfully designed products by local designers, cheap vintage knick knacks, unusual products you never knew you needed, modern lifestyle items and of course, a range of amazing food that Thailand is so well known for.
If you do have a chance to head down to Bangkok anytime soon, here are some of the highlights at Artbox:
Their colourful drinks are a sight to behold – too pretty to consume, they will definitely be a welcomed sight amidst the heat of sunny Bangkok.
You guessed it, this store specializes in all things fried. From fries to quesadillas and popcorn chicken, they complement these sinful goodies with the best sauces and toppings (chilli beef, sour cream and bacon) available.
Cheap, juicy grilled pepper beef steak cut into convenient bite sized pieces? Yes please!
A perfect appetiser, the nachos with its hot, gooey cheese and meat toppings will definitely set the scene for a night of feasting.
Of course, you have to end off the night with a bang. The colourful cocktails at Aqua Loha are sure to get you going on a good buzz.
Once you have had your fill and rummaged through all the stores at Artbox, chill out under the fairy lights and enjoy the live performances going on throughout the evening.
Artbox Chatuchak is pretty easy to locate, simply hop on the train to Kamphaengphet station, and take Exit 1. It will be open every Friday to Sunday from 5pm onwards.
Also, in case you don’t already know, Artbox is coming to Singapore for 2 weeks in April. From 14-16 and 21-23 April 2017, head down to The Bayfront Event Space to have a taste of what this infamous night market is like right here on our shores.
