The new Bird Paradise isn’t the only place where you can enjoy beautiful bird sightings in Singapore (especially if you’re wary of having your belongings pinched by the park’s unhinged, uncaged birds). Hosted by the Wings of Parrots Community, you can enjoy the awesome sight of free-flying flocks of parrots every weekend at Marina East Park—completely free of charge!
@candi.licious Head down to Marina Barrage on the weekends 4.30- 7pm to meet Basil and friends! #birdsoftiktok #marinabarrage #candilicious

Whether you’re a parrot owner yourself, or simply an avid bird watcher, you’re more than welcome to join in the weekly parrot meet for a fun evening of free flying. The free flying itself is quite a sight to behold: parrots are released into the open simultaneously (without any leashes), and are able to fly back to their respective owners, as if they’ve all been trained to do just so!
If you’re lucky, you might also be able to befriend some of these friendly and domesticated parrots—get to know them by letting them perch gently on your shoulders or arms. This unique free-flying event started out with a small group of fellow hobbyists and parrot owners, and has how flourished to become a large community where parrot owners and enthusiasts can come together for parrot “playdates” and let their birds roam out in the nature, as they’re meant to be. The free flying sessions take place every weekend (Saturday and Sunday) from 4.30pm to 7pm at Marina East Park.
Beginner parrot owners who want to take part in free-flying can also sign up for Parrot Training sessions (from $156 for 5 sessions), where your pet parrot will be taught how to respond to prompts, fly back and land properly upon your command. For more information on these Parrot Training sessions, see here.
