When we heard that KFC was launching a new item —the Sour Cream & Onion Chicken—, we knew we had to try it.
We ordered a 2pc-meal at $9.45. For a meal, you get two luscious pieces of Sour Cream & Onion chicken thigh, one regular Whipped Potato, one regular Coleslaw and one medium sized SJORA Mango Peach.
This new addition is essentially your Hot & Spicy Chicken coated with crunchy nacho chips before being fried, and then dusted with sour cream and onion sprinkle. We didn’t get any spice at all, but it wasn’t necessary, because boy, the sour cream stole the show the minute we sunk our teeth into that juicy piece of thigh.
It tastes strikingly similar to Pringles’ Sour Cream & Onion chips; so think your favourite potato crisps in the form of chicken — absolutely heaven! The nacho chips definitely gave extra crunch as well. In fact, if we could have additional nacho chips, we absolutely would.
The Sour Cream & Onion Chicken is available a la carte at $3.90 a piece. For just 35 cents more than its Original and Hot and Spicy counterparts, we’d be more than willing to top up extra.
And since we were already there, we decided to give the new Bolognese Cheese Fries a try as well.
If you think Cheese Fries are the bomb, the Bolognese Cheese Fries are the bomb intensified. The Bolognese sauce tastes something like what your mom will make: very homemade, and an excellent dip with fries or anything that involves carbs. Depending on whether you like your fries soggy or not, mix up the cheese and Bolognese sauce to get the best of both worlds instantly!
They cost $5.45 when purchased a la carte, but get them for $3.95 when you purchase a Sour Cream & Onion Chicken Meal!
Will we get the KFC Sour Cream & Onion Chicken and Bolognese Cheese Fries again? A resounding yes.
