With rising food prices in Singapore, it’s becoming something of a challenge to find good food that’s also pocket-friendly (save for hawker centres), much less café or restaurant fare for under $10. Well, it seems one restaurant in Singapore seems to have done it, offering what they dub as an “Inflation Menu” for just $9.99++!
The English House is a swanky British brasserie situated in a gorgeous and elegant colonial-style building. The “Inflation Menu” is a new addition that they’ve just launched on 1st May 2023, and the thought behind it is to “say thank you and [give] back to the community” as part of The English House’s philosophy of “empathy, compassion and generosity”.

The “Inflation Menu” is only available for dine-in, and the dishes change every day, ranging from British to Chinese influenced fare. Past dishes served since the launch include the likes of Stoddart’s Scotch Shin of Beef Ragu Calamarata, Ox Cheek Pie, Buddha’s Delight Vermicelli, Honey Glazed BBQ Acorn Fed Spanish Pork Belly Fried Rice, Braised Beef with Pomme Puree, Black Pepper English Duck Rice and more—all of which are priced at an affordable $9.99++.
Considering that their usual a la carte mains start from an upwards of $35++, this $9.99++ daily menu is a steal indeed. The “Inflation Menu” will continued to be offered from Monday to Saturday for an indefinite period of time, and you can order it for both lunch and dinner service.
