Despite the many businesses looking to reopen immediately on the first day of phase 2(19 June 2020), Uniqlo has decided to remain closed for a period of time.
The Japanese clothing chain has announced that they will be delaying the reopening of their stores to ensure the wellbeing of their customers and staff.
Instead, they will be planning for a phased reopening, which they will announce over the course of the coming weeks. They will also be doing thorough cleaning of all their stores and setting up SafeEntry to keep track of movements in and out.
Uniqlo has stated that all surfaces in their outlets that are exposed to human contact will be treated with a self-disinfecting nano-coating, and fitting rooms will be disinfected manually after each use. Customers are also encouraged to utilize contactless payment to minimize any possibility of a viral transmission.
