You’re probably used to sweet or flavoured ice cream cones, but have you ever had savoury ice cream cones? This new ice cream in Orchard is bringing the one-of-a-kind savoury cone to Singapore, and they’re even giving away 200 free cones on opening day!

Enter Ugly Cones: a hole-in-the-wall ice cream spot specialising in Japanese-style treats, with their signature item being the umami “Orijinaru Ugly Cone”, a unique savoury and umami-rich cone that’s handcrafted to order—hence the name “ugly” as each cone is perfectly imperfect.

For their initial launch, there will be a mere 3 ice cream flavours on the menu to complement the savoury cones: Chokorēto (chocolate), Ichigo (strawberry) and Miruku-ame (Hokkaido milk, Madagascar Vanilla and Mizuame. You also have the option of adding toppings to your treat: house-made jelly or mochi bites!

That’s not all, Ugly Cones also shares a space with Asylum Coffee’s latest concept: The Coffee Library, boasting a literal library of international, regional and local coffee beans, as well as cold brew options to choose from.
