Korea is great at coming up with novel and viral food creations, one of them being the UFO Burger: a uniquely shaped burger that’s pressed to resemble the shape of a UFO (obviously), and the ultra compact form is supposed to create an explosion of flavours the moment you bite into it. Curious about how this UFO-shaped burger fares with your regular burgers? You can now try the “UFO Burger” right here in Singapore!
No, this isn’t the original UFO Burger from Korea, but it is heavily inspired by the popular burger chain, with the machine itself also being imported from Korea. These UFO-shaped burgers are brought to you by Spaceship Burger, the newest concept by food wholesaler Culture Hub.
How are the burgers made? The UFO-shaped burger is first constructed just like any other normal burger—all the burger ingredients are stacked on top of a burger bun, from the patty, vegetables, cheese and sauces. The only difference is that all this is done atop the special dome-shaped grill, and after the top bun is added, the entire burger is pressed down and toasted in the grill to create the distinct spaceship shape.
The result? An adorable spaceship-shaped burger that has all its ingredients sealed within, so you won’t have to worry about all the juices spilling everywhere. This is especially ideal for eating on the go, as it reduces the risk of it being a messy affair (as eating burgers usually is).
For now, Spaceship Burger only offers 2 versions of the burger: the Spaceship Kimchi Burger ($10) and the Spaceship Beef Burger ($13). You can find them at their stall in Takashimaya’s Food Fiesta 2023 from now till 17th July 2023. After which, they’re hoping to make more appearances at various food fairs, bazaars and pasar malams around Singapore. You can check for latest updates on their whereabouts via their Instagram.
