We came across a series of pictures from Open Studios, that shows this HDB flat with a vintage cinematic vibe!
This concept, titled “Vignette of Domesticity”, takes place within a HDB apartment in Ang Mo Kio. According to the designers behind this project, the concept “anchors squarely on abstracting and framing the couple’s life, much like vignettes of a film montage”
The entrance of the apartment features a stone-washed finishing, which “adds a touch of hospitality to the foyer”.
Partition is added near the window to create a balcony where homeowners can chill around any time of the day. Accordion windows are also installed to provide unobstructed views of the surrounding.
At the centre of the common area lies a 5-metre long kitchen island and dining table, providing ample space for dinner parties, or just simple mealtimes.
Curved window that frames the study room gives a unique touch to the overall design, as well as a sense of spaciousness as you look out into the living area.
It is also interesting to see how the designers have installed a wall paneling to form a walk-in wardrobe in the master bedroom. Talk about space efficiency!
The sudden contrast in colour in the bathroom adds dimensions to the monochrome apartment.
Main vanity is located right in front of the window, where you will have ample natural light. The use of ceiling-hung mirrors allows you to open the windows whenever you want.
