If you’ve never heard of the term ‘boatel’, welcome to the club – it’s basically a boat-turned-hotel, and Le Pirate Boatel is one such beautiful place to stow away at for a quick getaway in Indonesia.

Anchored in a blue lagoon just 10 minutes away from the main street of Labuan Bajo, Flores, Le Pirate Boatel has shuttle boats available for boatel guests to and from the harbour. There are 10 waterfront cabins to reside in, and instead of a wall or a window, one side of each room is completely open and leads right straight to clear blue waters.
There is an opaque screen to pull down for shade and privacy and transparent curtains that double as a mosquito net! Source: The InnBox

On top of that, each cabin is fitted with a private deck, hammocks, cushions, and swim ladder so that you can soak in the sun and sea breeze any time you want without having to vie for space with others!

As if that’s not all, complimentary breakfast, WiFi, and snorkelling equipment are provided too, and a wide range of activities like canoeing, rock fishing, beach explorations, and island exploration day tours are available for the adventurous souls who can’t sit still.

Of course, because it isn’t a cruise ship, Le Pirate Boatel only has shared bathrooms, but they are all furnished with essential necessities! Other common spaces include a bar, dining area with a food counter, and lounge deck that provides a better 360° view of the lagoon.

At just RP500,000 (about SGD$47.30) a night, I’d say that this is a pretty darn good weekend getaway destination. Book a room here if you’re interested and refer here for more details!
