Asam Pedas PakNdak in JB is a little out of the way, a 2-hour drive from JB’s city centre, but the experience is definitely worth the travel. The restaurant is located right by the bay, so you get to slurp up some freshly shucked oysters and enjoy some panoramic waterfront views while you’re at it!

The oysters at Asam Pedas PakNdak are also incredibly affordable: going for just RM35 for a platter of 10 oysters, which works out to about $10.90 SGD or ~$1 per oyster! The oyster platter also comes with the restaurant’s signature spicy sauce, to give the oysters that extra kick. Aside from freshly shucked oysters, they also offer other tze char-style items like sambal fish, omelette, stir-fried vegetables and more!
