THIS BAKERY IN SINGAPORE HAS “FRIED FROG” CAKES, TOPPED WITH REALISTIC WHOLE “FROGS”!

Last April Fool’s, local Singaporean bakery Baker’s Brew launched a controversial series of vegetable-themed cakes topped with actual veggies like taugeh, asparagus and carrots. This year, they’ve decided to take an even more shocking route for April Fool’s—a fried frog cake!

The Fried Frog Cake (from $248) is customisable and features sculpted whole frogs (head, legs, and all), piled on top of each other and arranged atop a cake. The “frogs” are made entirely out of fondant; and are also doused in brown piping jelly to mimic a thick “sauce”. The resulting product looks just like the classic Chinese stir-fried frog dish, except it’s a sweet cake, andnot savoury at all. Even though it looks pretty quirky (or downright horrific, for some), rest assured the cake is 100% edible.

The cake is also fully customisable: you can choose between a 6-inch or 8-inch cake, pick the cake flavour you want, and even add a personalised message. You can choose from 10 different cake flavours, including: Earl Grey Lavender, Yubari Melon, Strawberry Speculoos, Roasted Pistachio & Rose, Lychee Mango and more. The cake also comes with a gold candle and a “Happy Birthday” topper. For more details on the cake and to order it for yourself (or to prank your friends), see here. The Fried Frog Cake will be available to order even after April Fool’s, and you can get it all year round.
