1. A Very Small Exhibition

You might have encountered one of Wei’s temporary light exhibitions around Singapore at some void deck or at some iconic landmark—part of a movement to make the ordinary extraordinary. This time, you can experience Wei’s rainbow neon light installations for more than a moment, with his latest exhibition located at the Malay Heritage Center from now till 31st November 2021.

2. Japan Rail Fair

If you aren’t planning to travel to Japan anytime soon, you can still enjoy the best of Japan at the virtual Japan Rail Fair hosted by Japan Rail Café!

The digital fair will feature both free and ticketed events that showcase the beauty and wonders of prefectures like Akita, Kagoshima, Kanagawa, Aomori, Tokyo, Fukushima, and Wakayama. 3. Murder at Old Changi Hospital

Participate in an interactive virtual escape room event to uncover the secrets behind a mysterious murder case at Old Changi hospital. Written by award-winning playwright Chong Tze Chien, this event is fully immersive: with 360 video footage, flashbacks and an interactive choose-your-own-adventure format.

Solve the case by yourself or rally your trusty group of detectives and make it a spooky occasion. You’ll also have the option to extend the original time of 100 minutes to 110 minutes, as well as get a clue or two.

4. ArtScience on Screen: Textures of the City

An initiative by ArtScience Museum, ArtScience on Screen is a moving image programme aimed at exploring and pushing the limits between art, science and technology through film and emerging media.

Highlights include works from renowned artists both local and abroad, with specially curated film programmes, a series of micro-commissions and more. Several works to look forward to include Moriyama-San, Short Vacation, Taming the Garden and more.

5. Virtual Realms: Videogames Transformed

Explore the world of videogames at the ArtScience Museum with this playful and immersive installation filled with new sonic landscapes and exciting kaleidoscopic worlds. 

Virtual Realms: Videogames Transformed will feature 6 of the world’s most acclaimed video game developers in collaboration with 6 leading media design studios to create a series of large-scale installations. View exhibitions like Synthesia, Unity, Connection, Play, Narrative and Everything.

6. Street Corner Heritage Galleries

Brought to you by National Heritage Board (NHB) as part of efforts to enhance partnerships with local communities as well as to raise awareness and appreciation for heritage in everyday spaces, Street Corner Heritage Galleries features “mini-musuems” that highlight the stories of various businesses and trades. 

In close collaboration with local shop owners with at least 30 years of history such as Balestier, Kampong Gelam, Little India, Kreta Ayer/Chinatown and Geylang Serai, explore and rediscover places of old, filled with the richness of our Singapore history.

7. Singapore Korean Film Festival 2021

The Korean film and television scene has garnered much attention worldwide in recent years: from Train to Busan, Parasite and Minari, so what better way to celebrate and discover Korean film than with a first-ever Hybrid Edition of the Korean Film Festival?

Running from 7th-17th October, the Festival will be held through both in-person and online screenings. The Festival will feature 8 film titles over 15 screenings at Golden Village Suntec, with a further 30 titles available online via meWATCH.

In-theatre screenings will include films like “Dongju”, “Exit” and the Oscar-acclaimed “Minari”. Tickets are free for all vaccinated individuals; book your tickets here. 8. Tulipmania – Its Wild Origins

Back by popular demand, the Tulipmania showcase is back at Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Dome. Now with a nomadic Kazakh twist, the Tulipmania showcases a cross section of an actual 4m-tall yurt, a replication of a Kazakhstan bazaar, towers and gates inspired by Timurid Dynasty architecture and more.

To enjoy Tulipmania and its gorgeous wild tulips, just book tickets for the Flower Dome at $12 (adults) and $8 (children & senior citizens). Tulipmania will be in Singapore from now till 14th November 2021.

9. The Mother

The final installation of The Father, The Son and The Mother trilogy, this play is written by renowned French playwright Florian Zeller. The Mother is a thrilling psychological thriller that tells the disturbing story of a woman’s descent into madness, expounding on important questions regarding mental illness.

10. Once Upon a Time on the Orient Express

Fans of the Orient Express are in for a treat with this pop-up attraction at Gardens by the Bay, allowing visitors to embark on a fascinating journey through the history of the Orient Express. 

The attraction will feature 2 original train carriages, a 158 year old locomotive shipped straight from France, 300 precious items such as uniforms, affiches, Louis Vuitton original luggage, priceless porcelain and more. Visitors can also look forward to an exclusive Orient Express merchandise shop, café, restaurant and escape room experience.
