Festivals and events in Singapore
It’s Mother’s Day this weekend and besides bringing her out for a meal, we have a list of programmes that you can extend your date with – there’s an award-winning musical and ballet play, free yoga classes, and a couple of street food fiestas like the much-awaited Geylang Serai Bazaar!
1. Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar

Yes, it’s that time of the year again. The month-long Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar is back, and will be spread across a couple of areas such as Haig Road, the new Wisma Geylang Serai, and Tanjong Katong Complex!

There’ll be over 1000 stalls set up by hipster vendors like 21 Sliders, Katoshka, and Sofnade, and old-school favourites like Ramly Burger. Expect both traditional Hari Raya goodies and photo-worthy creations including cotton candy burritos, fried durians, and rainbow ice cream buns for sale!

2. TIGER STREET FOOD POP-UP

For something that hits closer to home, head down to Tiger Street Food Pop-Up, where local street food hawkers will set up stalls at the hipster container space, The Deck. Dig into crowd favourites like Har Cheong Gai (prawn paste chicken wings), Nasi Lemak, and Salted Egg Yolk Chicken Pasta!

3. Legally Blonde the Musical

Spend some quality girl-time with your mom at Legally Blonde the Musical! On stage from 10th – 20th May, the award-winning Broadway musical stays true to its original box office version, and follows the quirky fashionista-cum-sorority queen Elle Woods on her journey at Harvard Law to win her boyfriend back. With a brand new production from New York that has updated choreography, lighting, costumes, and sets, audiences can rest assured that they’ll be in for an exciting show.

4. Yoga Movement X Make-A-Wish Foundation

5. Swan Lake in Singapore

Back again for just a week after 2015 and 2016’s sold-out stages, the world-famous St Petersburg Ballet Theatre will be performing the ballet classic Swan Lake from 8th – 13th May!
Led by Prima Ballerina Irina Kolesnikova, the performance will have guest stars from the internationally renowned Bolshoi Ballet, and tells the haunting love story of Prince Siegfried and Swan Princess Odette, a woman transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer.

6. Pasar Glamour
