Visit The Gift exhibition at SAM for your dose of arts appreciation. Happening from now all the way till 7th November 2021, The Gift espouses on the question of what, really, is in a gift.
The act of gifting is a social act, a cultural performance and a philosophical concept all at once. The seemingly ordinary and innocent act of gifting may actually be not so ordinary or innocent after all. This exhibition is part of a larger collection of works titled Collecting Entanglements and Embodied Histories that unearths the histories behind collecting.

2. Festival of Wines
An entire festival dedicated to wine? Sign us right up! For the very first time, the Festival of Wines is happening from now till 12th September 2021 at the Shangri-La Singapore.
The Festival will feature over 50 prized bottles of wine from all around the world as well as gourmet courses. If you’re a wine connoisseur or just a casual drinker, there are various packages for you to choose from: inclusive of a welcome drink, course meals and wine pairings and even dessert.

3. OH! Jalan Besar: Refuge For Strangers
Discover the corner of Singapore that is Jalan Besar on this guided mini artwalk along the quaint Jalan Besar—home to transient workers, the fringes of society, sunset trades and disappearing clans.
Experience the secret spaces hidden within Jalan Besar, interspersed with the works of 4 artists. Here, in the messy, raw and complex area of Jalan Besar, past and present intersect, old and new communities converge, and only as outsiders can we begin to comprehend this refuge for strangers.

4. #SGFASHIONNOW at ACM
A collaboration between LASALLE College of the Arts and Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM), the exhibition #SGFASHIONNOW is an exploration of contemporary Singapore fashion in the context of Asia’s cultural heritage.
The exhibition is divided into two segments: the first, by ACM x Textile and Fashion Federation (TaFF), showcasing four ensembles by Singapore-based finalists of fashion design competition Singapore Stories 2020; and the second, ACM x LASALLE, highlighting works by 8 local designers.

5. Tsuyoshi Hisakado: “Resume”
Ota Fine Arts Singapore proudly presents “Resume”, a solo exhibition by Japanese artist Tsuyoshi Hisakado. The main feature of this exhibition is an installation work comprising of 50 wooden panels, each painted fluorescent pink, yellow or orange on one side.
The panels either lay on the floor or lean against the walls, allowing the natural light streaming in to reflect off the colours of the panels to create subtle glows on the white walls and floor. The exhibition is made complete with the sound of a 6000 Hertz sine wave emitted from the speakers, a stark opposite to the natural sounds from the surroundings.
The exhibition in its entirety acts as a metaphor for the drastic changes that were catalysed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and reflects Hisakado’s stance of finding positivity in all situations while still retaining that sense of artistic sensitivity.

6. DANCE: A Tribute To Rudolf Nureyev
For a limited time till 25th September, Alliance Française brings you an exhibition dedicated to legendary French ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev.
The exhibition brings to the forefront the epitome of French excellence, showcasing 14 iconic costumes from Nureyev’s signature ballets, images from some of Nureyev’s legendary performances as well as a series of talks, workshops and conferences to shed light on the evolution of ballet and its key role in the France’s cultural landscape.

7. Rainforest Lumina
