An unconventional bookstore, cosy reading room, and event space all in one
Bibliophiles, dreamers, and romantic souls, you now have a place to retreat to in your spare time – The Moon. An inviting bookstore, cafe, and event space that’s nestled conveniently just a 3-minute walk away from Chinatown MRT station, The Moon feels almost magical and otherworldly, with their tall wooden shelves packed full with books and warm dim lighting.
Filled with a specially curated selection of books that has genres ranging from fiction novels and poetry to travel guides and cookbooks, customers can find gems like literary classics with adorably illustrated covers, thought-provoking reads on current affairs, and limited-edition hardbacks that cannot be found anywhere else in Singapore.
These special edition hardbacks include widely read titles like Murder On The Orient Express, The Wizard of Oz, Star Trek, and Sherlock Holmes!
Half the books here are also penned by female authors because that is The Moon’s heartwarming aim – to be inclusive, welcoming, and have something for everyone.
In line with that, most of the bakes and beverages served at The Moon is vegan and gluten-free to cater to those with sensitive constitutions. Think Turmeric Banana Bread ($5), Cardamom Chocolate cake with Orange Ganache ($10), and Haldi Doodh ($6/$7) – an interesting turmeric latte concoction!

Choose to either enjoy them at the cafe area or bring them up to the reading room on the 2nd floor to cosy up with a good read! Furnished with plush sofas, thick carpets, and plump cushions strewn all over, it’s homely and perfect for huddling for long hours. To top that off, there’s even free WiFi and powerpoints available.
There are even rows of fairy lights above!
Currently still in their soft launch, The Moon is officially opening on 21st September with a party and a series of guest performances and activities like tarot card-reading – they’ll be open till 12 midnight every Friday and Saturday as well, so feel free to drop by and unwind if you’re tired of the usual partying!
