Going through a breakup is never easy, and there’s bound to be some lingering feelings—be it friendly and amicable or nasty and hateful ones—after the split. This unique breakup-inspired exhibition lets you resolve at least a small part of those feelings through a series of cathartic activities.
@mainstreetcommissary Let’s enter our healing era together at Main Street Commissary. 🫶 Introducing “The Ex-hibition” – a journey through the messy and beautiful process of moving on. Explore the complex emotions of heartbreak and rediscovery in this collaborative showcase by the Sincerely, Singles team at Our Grandfather Story (OGS) and Main Street Commissary. Through various art installations, including a letter board and conversational prompts, visitors are invited to reflect on their experiences of love and loss. The “Ex-hibtition” runs from now till end April.

At “Memory Dump” you can pick and bring home a memento from someone else’s ex for free, and leave one of your own items from your ex as well. Go ahead and dump your exes’ old stuff in the box too! Samples of items submitted at the dump include plushies, trinkets, handmade drinkware and more.
There will also be actual text messages exchanged between exes showcased at the exhibition, and you can submit your own texts from your exes via Main Street Commissary’s Instagram DM if you wish to be featured (anonymously). You can also read letters written by others to their ex, and pen letters of your own at “Letters To My Ex”. Feel free to bring old letters from home as well and add them to the board!

Open up through deep conversations with friends using some of the question prompts provided, such as: “What is one thing you’ve learnt from an ex?”, “When was the last time you enjoyed your own company?”, “Do you have a memory from an ex that still makes you smile?” and more.
