Relive the good ol’ golden days of Hong Kong at HEY KEE HK Seafood, a newly-opened Hong Kong restaurant in Singapore with aesthetic vintage and retro decor, a “barber shop” and “bus stop”, plus authentic fare!

HEY KEE pays homage to the old-school da pai dong culture, which translates to “big license stall” and refers to the many open-air food stalls that used to line Hong Kong’s bustling streets and alleyways. Most striking about HEY KEE’s interior is the retro ambience and vibrant vintage aesthetics: from bold red and green banquet tables and chairs, checkered tile floors, neon lights and signages, live seafood tanks, photos/posters of famous movie icons and celebrities—details that really help to give off that authentic feel.

There’s even a nostalgic 80s and 90s-inspired “barber shop” complete with the classic spiral lamp, and also a “bus stop”! Both of which are completely non-functional, purely for aesthetic purposes and fun photo ops, of course.

As for the food, you can take your pick from their live seafood tanks (market price), with options like soon hock, grouper, crab, lobster, prawns and more; or select from their menu of authentic Hong Kong cuisine. Highlights from the menu include ‘Typhoon Shelter’ Style Stir Fried Crab ($98/kg), Sautéed Beef Tenderloin with Black Pepper & Potatoes ($36.80), ‘Temple Street’ Crispy Roast Chicken (from $22.80), Signature Claypot Live Seafood Porridge (market price) and more.
