JB’s café game goes hard, and if you’re a fan of chunky loaded bagels, you’ve probably heard of JB’s viral bagel specialty café: Palates & Bagels. The café is known for their affordable chunky bagels starting from under $2 SGD, and if you’ve yet to pay them a visit, you’ll be glad to know that they’ve just opened a new second outlet in JB!

The new Palates & Bagels is located in Taman Melodies, just 10 minutes away from the checkpoint, boasting a massive 2-storey standalone bungalow-esque space and rustic Bali-inspired vibes indoors. Like the first outlet, the new interior is also super charming, with raw and textures walls and countertops. What’s new here is the addition of a Thai-inspired savoury brunch menu, as well as newly-launched bagel flavours.

The café is dubbed a spot for the “best bagels in JB”, so you should probably be getting a couple of their freshly-baked bagels when you’re there. Plain bagels start from just RM6 (~$1.80 SGD), while the chunkier loaded bagel options start from RM15.90 (~$4.70 SGD).

Some bagel options you can try include the Ah Seng (RM38.90), Dino (RM26.90) and Lola (RM 18.90), among others. Other Thai-influenced highlights include Tom Yum Seafood (RM36.90), Pomelo Salad in the Vase (RM26.90), Petai & Tiger Prawn Fried Rice (RM33.90), Crab Meat Fried Rice (RM37.90) and more.
