We’re absolutely loving the vintage Korean-style aesthetic for cafés, much like the viral Café Margaret along Haji Lane. Enter The Olive Door, the latest entrant into the café scene at Joo Chiat, with a charming cottagecore-esque vibe that’s reminiscent of the Korean cafés we love!

You can’t miss their bright olive green door (of course), where you’ll be greeted by a pretty yet cosy space with tiled floors, vintage lamps, floral accents and quirky mismatched furniture. The café itself is pretty compact, with only a couple of very small tables and stools indoors and outside, so don’t count on being able to get a seat easily during your visit.

The café is primarily a takeaway joint, but if you don’t mind standing, there is a small wall-mounted table indoors where you can take your drinks and bakes. Find various bakes and Korean-inspired treats from @pelle.and.pepe like Spiced Carrot Cake ($7), Strawberry ($9), Apple Brioche Tartlette ($7.50), Cardamom Bun ($6.50) and more.

For heartier bites, they also offer various breakfast sandwiches, but come early if you want to snag them! The Olive Door also offers gourmet coffees and drinks courtesy of @narrativecoffeestand, including the likes of White (from $5.50), Chai ($6), Hojicha ($6), Ice Earl Grey with Moustache Foam ($7.50) and Seasonal Kombucha ($7.50), to name a couple.
