Italian buffet spreads aren’t commonly found in Singapore, and one of the few include LUCE at InterContinental Singapore. LUCE is known for their popular Italian brunch buffets that used to only be available on the weekends, but are now available all week long for lunch and dinner from just $58++ per person!
During our weekday visit to LUCE to check out the new Gastronomic Buffet Experience, we’re told that pretty much everything at this spread is brand new, specially curated by their new Italian head chef, Chef Rossi. We were especially impressed by the variety of fresh seafood and premium Italian offerings available, even for a regular weekday lunch seating.
Seafood lovers will be delighted by the raw bar, with seafood on ice options like crayfish, poached prawns, clams, mussels, assorted sashimi and sushi. There’s even an entire section dedicated to cold antipastis, breads, artisanal cheeses, and salads. You can create your own salad using premium salad dressings and oil imported straight from Modena, Italy, and there’s also lots of antipasti like Roast Beef, Wild Rice, Roasted Mushroom Salad, Farmer Pork Terrine, Duck Rillete and more.
Aside from seasonal cheese selections, their bread and butter offerings are also note-worthy; as you can enjoy not just any ol’ butter, but Échiré butter, which is known as one of the best quality butters there is.
What’s an Italian-centric buffet without pizzas and pastas? At LUCE, you can enjoy Roman-style Pinsas (or pizzas) that are freshly woodfired. There’s several pizza options available like La Formaggio and Pere, La Tartufata and Foccacia Pizza Barese; and we recommend you grab them as soon as they’re out of the oven so you can enjoy the hot, fluffy texture of the dough at its best. Their pastas are also a definite must-try from the spread, with options like Traditional Lasagna Alla Bolognese, Gnocchi di Patate Tartufo Nero, and Penna alla Luciana. Our favourite from the pastas has got to be the classic Lasagna, with a comforting homey taste that’s reminiscent of grandma’s cooking.
Other Italian highlights include Venetian-style Cuttlefish Stew, Traditional Southern Italian Vegetable Ragout, Black Mussel Marinara and Mashed Potato au Gratin. Need a break from all that Italian? You can also find classic buffet favourites and Asian fare like assorted Dim Sum, Braised Pork Knuckle, Chicken Masala, Double boiled Soup and the classic Live Laksa station.
The dessert spread is also not to be missed, such as a DIY gelato bar with unlimited toppings, chocolate fountain with fruit and marshmallow skewers, Tiramisu, Warm Danish Butter Pudding with Custard Sauce, Mango Mousse Cake and much more.
The buffet starts from $58++ per person for lunch and from $78++ per person for dinner. From now till 31st May 2024, you can even take 30% off all lunch, dinner and Champagne brunch buffets, so you can dig into this Italian spread from just $40.60++ per person instead!
