Fulfil your pink-Instagram feed desires at this specialty coffee shop owned by an American couple. At La Mesa, find plenty of photo taking spots, from the coral shades of the walls to rustic cement tiling. Floor-to-ceiling windows also allow for plenty of natural lighting to shine through — optimum for that golden hour glow up. While you’re at it, grab a couple of items from their New Mexican and USA-inspired style menu, such as coffee sodas, hot espressos and housemade cheesecakes.

Go back to the ‘70s at Fruit Bar The Social Club, the latest colourful watering hole in the hip Ari enclave. Avocado-shaped neon lights brighten up the space together with muted blue-red tones. Fruits (particularly avocados) are a recurring theme here, especially in the drinks. Find cocktails with organic avocado ice cream, potato wedges with avo-dips and more!

For those more into muted colours instead of pinks, head to Blackhill BKK. Japanese and Scandinavian-style living take precedence here, which are further punctuated by light wooden bar counters and ash grey concrete walls. The cafe also adopts a Slow Bar concept, where you get to observe the coffee making process of the baristas while listening to music from classic record players. Find primarily coffees here which are created meticulously using manual brewing methods.

If you’re updated on the cafe scene, you’ll notice that grey, industrial interiors are all the hype now. Find this aesthetic at MTCH, a contemporary matcha bar in the heart of Ari. White and grey tones, clear acrylic tables and translucent curtains go hand in hand together, while wooden furniture make for a fitting complement. Find matcha drinks of all types here, from Watermelon Matcha to cold-pressed Matcha Latte. Just be sure not to spill any green on the pristine furniture.

5. ARCH

A swimming pool within a cafe? That’s how chill life is at ARCH, arguably the hottest food and drink joint right now in the laidback neighbourhood of Punnawithi. Muted and rustic tones of the cafe make for great coffee spots, but where you really want to be sipping your cuppa and taking photos at is by the pool. And it’s not any regular pool you see on the ‘gram with unicorn floats; but one that resembles a dingy swimming complex from the ‘90s. We’re not sure if swimming is actually allowed, but it’s unlikely so.
