Held outside Tiong Bahru Plaza is the popular Local Meets Global Food Fair that’s back for another run this August! There’s over 20 different food stalls, with both local and international food offerings to choose from. Aside from cooked food, there’s also a retail area where you can shop for popular Chinese snacks, a durian stall and more.

Some of the more unique food items include Taiwanese mochi dipped in creamy cheese sauce, giant egg roll pancake “burritos”, cartoon-inspired shaved snow ice, rice paper-wrapped fire ramen, hand-punched lemon green tea and more. There’s an indoor area and also an outdoor area with seating areas for you to dine in.

Touted as one of the largest food events in Singapore, Yummy Food Expo is making a comeback this August, marking the event’s 8th run. The food expo is said to be an absolute “food paradise”, and foodies can look forward to feast and shop from over 100 local and international F&B stalls, manufacturers, retailers and more, offering products you probably won’t be able to get outside of the event.

This year’s Yummy Food Expo will be held across just 4 days from 29th August till 1st September 2024 only. Exhibitors for the upcoming 2024 event have yet to be confirmed, but past events have seen plenty of vendors that are boothing for the first time ever, so visitors can definitely expect lots of unique offerings and new foods to discover. Admission to the event is free.

3. Sembawang MRT Pasar Malam

Northies are in for a treat, as there’s a mega pasar malam coming your way real soon in Sembawang! The pasar malam will be held at the open field beside Sun Plaza and Sembawang MRT station starting 19th August till 1st September 2024.

While the vendors participating in the upcoming pasar malam have yet to be confirmed, you can most likely expect the usual favourites like sweet potato balls, Taiwanese snacks, Thai milk tea, air balang, kebabs, foot-long fries, beef cubes, stuffed meat balls and more. There will also be shopping and games like claw machines too.

4. People’s Park Mid-Autumn Festival

To celebrate the coming Mid-Autumn Festival season, People’s Park at Chinatown will be hosting their inaugural festivities complete with street light-ups, a food fair and state performances. The event will be ongoing for an entire month, starting from mid-August onwards, so you can enjoy the celebrations and activities to the fullest.

Of course, there will be plenty of mooncakes to savour, as well as street food stalls lining Smith Street to eat your way through. Visitors can also look forward to spectacular lantern displays and light-up artworks all along the streets for all your IG-worthy moments.

5. AMK Central Pasar Malam

If you live in the central area, head to AMK Hub for this new mega pasar malam that’s open till late everyday. Find some popular and trendy eats at the pasar malam with Dutch baby pancakes, mango sticky rice, coconut shakes, tanghulu, taiyaki, teppan shrimp paste, Korean spicy egg roll noodles, deep fried milk, peanut ice cream popiah and more.

Another win for friends living in the Central: Bishan is also having a pasar malam at the bus interchange! This edition is slightly smaller than the usual, but it’s no less packed with plenty of new and unique food items to chow down on.

The National Day festivities aren’t over at TRIFECTA in Orchard Road, as the ever-popular Backyard Sessions is happening for one day only with a new National Day-inspired edition. Admission is free, and you can look forward to sure-win prizes, epic live music, entertaining performances and food, of course.

8. Absolut Food Fest

You don’t have to head to JB or Malaysia for their popular mega food festivals, as one of them is making its way right here to Singapore real soon! For the first time ever, Absolut Food Festival will be making its debut in Singapore for just 3 days, complete with viral Malaysian food vendors and even artists performing live!

The Singapore edition will feature over 130 different brands of F&B and retail vendors, and you can look forward to foods like crispy kunafe, kunafe croissants, cheese-pull croissants, rendang wellington, air balang, Thai milk tea drinks, XXL dessert fries, assorted churros, baby Dutch pancakes and more. The viral gold bar grab challenge will also be happening at the event!
