Craft workshops like tufting can be a little pricey in Singapore, the good news is that there are much more affordable workshop options right across the border in JB! Good Times DIY Tufting is a new multi-concept lifestyle and craft studio with pocket-friendly workshop classes!

Good Times is located within Toppen Johor Bahru, about 20 minutes away from the checkpoint, and offers various arts and craft workshops including tufting, pottery and painting. The studio is pretty spacious, so there should be ample workshop slots available if you’re looking to take part during your day trip.

Tufting workshops start from RM 140 (~$40 SGD) for a 1.5-hour session, up to RM 230 (~$66 SGD), depending on the size of the rug you’re going for. There will be plenty of acrylic yarn colours for you to choose from in-store, and the workshop price includes usage of their tufting gun, cloth, frame, fabric adhesive and felt finishes. If you’re a tufting novice, not to worry—you’ll also be guided throughout the entire workshop!

There are also various pottery and painting workshops available to choose from starting from RM 120 (~$34 SGD); these include the likes of Wheel Throwing, Hand Building Pottery, Pottery Painting, Marble Artwork and more. You can browse their other workshop offerings here.
