Situated in the quaint neighbourhood of Upper Thomson, Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie is best known for conceptualising flavours which are inspired by everyday conversations within the Singaporean community. Presenting a contemporary take on what the brand thinks chocolate should be, Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie utilizes a myriad of flavours and ingredients from all around the region to create delicious chocolate treats.
Driven by an inherent aim to revitalise the Asian chocolate industry through promoting a bean-to-bar chocolate making process, whilst building a chocolate community that is mindful and responsible – Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie will grace the Asian Civilisation Musuem’s (ACM) first-ever Caravanserai.
The event which champions design, craft, and innovation, will feature a variety of local artists, artisans, and practitioners of craft. Inspired by the travelling caravans of past Asian civilisations, this pop up brand activation acts as a rest stop for the curious traveller of today, offering F&B services and products that boast exquisite craftsmanship, complemented by artisanal programmes and activities for all.
Showcasing a specially curated menu of chocolate coated ginger and almond bites, Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie has drawn inspiration from one of five astonishing artefacts in ACM – the ginger-root teapot.
Designed by husband-wife potters from Yixing county in China’s Jiangsu province, this functional and envelope-pushing teapot depicts a realistic ginger root growing out of the earth, through the use of malleable and fine-grained clay. Dating back to the late 20th-century, this teapot pays tribute to China’s historic status as a pioneer in porcelain and ceramics techniques, a homage which Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie hopes to do justice.
Made from caramelised almonds and candied ginger, coated with single-origin 72% Dark Chocolate from Sungai Ruan, Malaysia, Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie’s chocolate coated ginger and almond bites will be available alongside offerings by Elijah Pies, Doughter Bakery, and Krusty by Kausmo, from 13th to 21st March 2021.
