MODU is also conveniently located in the heart of town at Mandarin Gallery, with a traditional Hanok-inspired vibe. If you’re not familiar with samgyetang, it’s a popular Korean ginseng chicken soup dish that’s hearty and comforting to eat; perfect for the cold weather. MODU doesn’t just serve the basic samgyetang, they offer a more premium selection with 6 unique flavours of broth.

Each samgyetang set comes with whole young spring chicken stuffed with various herbs and glutinous rice; along with sides and dipping sauces like minari salad and radish kimchi. Prices for samgyetang sets start from $35, with options like Collagen Herbal ($35), Hangover ($37), Beauty ($37), Perilla Seed ($38), Black Sesame ($38) and Black Chicken ($37). Aside from ginseng the various samgyetang broths are chock-full of other medicinal herbs that are good for your body, like houttuynia cordata, saururus chinensis, perilla seeds, jujube and goji berries, among others. For health seekers, the Black Chicken option is definitely a must-order; featuring premium black chicken that’s known to be more tender, leaner and much higher in nutritional content.
