MEGA-SIZED DONS OVERFLOWING WITH MEAT & SEAFOOD TOPPINGS AT THIS NEW “ADULTS ONLY” IZAKAYA!

Big eaters, where are you at? This new “adults only” izakaya tucked within Fortune Centre has massive, towering dons and dishes that are overflowing with meat and seafood starting from a friendly $10.90 each!

Mega Chicken Nanban Don, $15.90

Mega Chicken Karaage Don, $13.90

Sakedokoro Eizaburo is a new Japanese spot with an authentic, no-frills izakaya vibe; and for lunch, they serve hearty mega-sized dons that are perfect if you’ve got a big appetite. There’s about 9 different mega options available on the lunch menu, with the biggest of them being the Mega Chicken Nanban Don ($15.90) and Mega Chicken Karaage Don ($13.90), each topped with a towering amount of freshly-fried chicken chunks. For the amount of chicken you get, these dons are super value-for-money, filled to the brim with so much chicken that we had to be careful when moving the bowls lest they fall off.

Mega Mixed Fries Don, $16.90; Mega Sauce Katsu Don, $19.90

Mega Katsu Curry Noodle, $23.40

If you love fried foods, you can try the Mega Mixed Fries Don ($16.90), Mega Sauce Katsu Don ($19.90) or Mega Katsu Curry Noodle ($23.40) as well. The Katsu options come with thick slabs of fried pork that are nearly as big as a hand. But we preferred the Mixed Fries option as it has an assortment of fried goodies, including mackerel, donkatsu, crab cream croquette, chicken karaage and ebi.

Premium Fujiyama Kaisen Don, $28.90

Mega Unagi Don, $28.90

For seafood lovers, definitely go for the Premium Fujiyama Kaisen Don ($28.90) or the Mega Unagi Don ($28.90). While not exactly the mega-sized, the Premium Fujiyama Kaisen Don features lots of quality ingredients piled high like a mountain. The don contains a variety of seafood, including chopped tuna, tuna chunks, salmon, saltfish, whelk, tobiko, snow crab, ikura and uni. Unagi fans will also love the Mega Unagi Don that’s topped with an entire portion of tender unagi. Note that for lunch, there’s a minimum order of 1 item per person, and you won’t be able to order just 1 mega don to share.

For dinner, enjoy izakaya-style small plates from just $2.90 each, including an extensive selection of sashimi, sushi, yakitori sticks, grilled meats, sides, salads and more. What makes this place “adults only” is their 2-drink policy. They’re touted as more of a drinking spot rather than an eating place, and for dinner sessions, each person will need to order a minimum of 2 drinks (either alcoholic or non-alcoholic) to dine. There is no minimum drink order required for lunch sessions.

Not to worry though, their alcoholic drinks are pretty affordably priced from just $6.90 per glass, so you won’t be burning a huge hole in your pocket. With such affordable eats and drinks, you can bet we’ll definitely be back to Sakedokoro Eizaburo whenever we’re craving some authentic Japanese fare and pocket-friendly booze.
