To celebrate the Year Of The Pig, Tanuki Raw has surprised us with the launch of gigantic limited-edition Tomahawk Donburis that’s actually made of Nagano pork instead of beef! The Nagano Tomahawk Katsu Curry ($28.80) and Golden Truffle Tomahawk Katsu ($28.80) are indulgent treats for those with big appetites ‘cause each tomahawk is a hefty 300-gram of premium pork cut from the fore rib that’s supported by a long rib bone.
Marinated with beer, coated with Japanese Panko crust and deep fried to perfection, the pork tomahawks are all crispy on the outside and tender on the inside – the perfect pairing to their fluffy short-grain rice mixed with umami seaweed seasoning!
Golden Truffle Tomahawk Katsu
Truffle-fanatics would be pleased to know that the Golden Truffle Tomahawk Katsu is slathered with a flavourful burst of gold dust-infused black truffle sauce. Earthy and aromatic, your truffle cravings will surely be satisfied in no time!
Nagano Pork Tomahawk Katsu Curry
Curry-lovers, you can opt for their Nagano Pork Tomahawk Katsu Curry that’s filled with spicy red curry made with a harmony of spices, capsicum, chilli paste and miso that cuts through the fattiness of the pork fat.
Unfortunately, this dish is only available till the end of February at their National Design Centre and Orchard Central outlets so make sure to sink your teeth in them before it’s too late. Let’s hope they become permanent menu items!
