Get that bag and eat it too? This home-based business in Singapore is hosting DIY designer bag-inspired jelly cake workshops where you can make your own “custom” luxury bags like Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton, and eat them too!
Wishing Upon a Cake is known for their custom jelly cakes, especially with various intricate floral designs and even adorable cartoon characters. And for those who like a slice of the bougie life, they’ve also just launched a new Edible Designer Bag Workshop, where you get to create a platter of mini floral jelly cakes topped with edible mini designer “bags”!
During the 4-hour guided workshop, you’ll learn how to pipe detailed floral designs into clear jelly cakes to make it look like they’re “floating”. You’ll also get to create your own mini designer “bags” inspired by iconic models like the Hermès birkin and Chanel boy bag to decorate your jelly cakes with. You can also choose your desired colour palette for your jelly cakes and edible “bag” toppers.
After experiencing the hands-on workshop for ourselves, we can say that it’s definitely harder than it looks! You’ll need a steady hand and lots of patience when piping the liquid jelly into the cakes, and into the bag-shaped moulds, especially for the tiny gold detailing for the “bags”. But not to worry: you’ll be guided every step of the way, and Giselle (the founder of Wishing Upon a Cake) will teach you tips and tricks for piping gorgeous flowers into the jelly cake so you can recreate them at home!
The 4-hour Edible Designer Bag Workshop session is priced at $208 per person, and you’ll get to take home a platter of 9 mini jelly cakes topped with your own designer “bag” creations. If you’re not up for the hands-on workshop, you can also pre-order the set for yourself (or as a gift) for $106 instead! Upcoming workshop sessions will be held on the following dates: 27th April, 28th April and 1st May 2024 from 9.30am onwards, with limited slots available per session.
