If you’re looking for a new late night supper spot in JB, we’ve got just the place for you, with food items starting from under $1! Bai Wan Dao is a unique tze char-style restaurant serving affordable Sichuan dishes in “mini pots” from just RM 2 (~$0.60 SGD)!
The dishes are all laid out on display, and all you have to do is grab what you want from the line, “buffet”-style, and make payment for your dishes at the counter. Each individual dish is also covered with a lid for hygiene. We love how the portions for each “mini pot” is small: perfect for if you’re dining alone, or if you want to try out multiple dishes in a larger group.
They’ve got a wide variety of dishes to choose from on rotation, each priced between RM 2 to RM 18 (~$0.60 to $5 SGD). There’s plenty of options to choose from: braised meats, fish, vegetables, soup, deep-fried items, dessert and more. The dishes are kept warm and you can even request for them to be heated once more if you want!
Some highlights to expect include Steamed Cod Fish with Pickled Peppers (RM 12), Secret Braised Beef Brisket (RM 8), Braised Pig Head Meat (RM 6), Guangdong-style Salt-Baked Chicken (RM 8), Stewed Duck Soup with Matsutake Mushrooms (RM 8), Spicy Braised Phoenix Claw (RM 6) and more.
