Wholesome and delicious food that won’t derail your diet
Located along Middle Road, Kokoro is a vibrant and cosy cafe to go for that healthy-eating plan. Kokoro, which means ‘heart’ in Japanese, aims to promote clean eating by only providing whole foods that go through minimal processing.
The 40-seater cafe is decorated with summer plants and wooden furniture that complete its rustic yet modern vibe. Nothing revives an Instagram feed like luscious green plants and wood accents. There is even a spot for an #OOTD shot with several aesthetically-pleasing leaves provided to use as props!
Food
Kokoro’s food menu is categorised into ‘Brunch’ and ‘Lunch’. Their brunch dishes are mostly light and on the sweeter side while lunch items are heartier and savoury ones. Most of the dishes are cooked from scratch without MSG and artificial flavourings too!
Baked Eggs With Spinach and Sausage
Cheese lovers, here’s a dish to indulge in without feeling too guilty – the Baked Eggs With Spinach And Sausage ($16.80) is a creamy and hearty dish that comes with baby spinach, smoked chicken and 2 eggs along with a crispy buttery croissant and spinach salad on the side. It also comes with a pack of jam that originated from Australia, which was refreshingly tart and perfect with the buttery taste of the croissant!
Ricotta Hotcakes
The Ricotta Hotcakes ($13.80) made me especially excited because of its fancy presentation and the fact that I love desserts. Soft and buttery on the inside, it was better than most of the hotcakes I’ve tried in the past!
Do enjoy the hotcakes with syrup, real blueberry jam, crunchy grapes and juicy strawberries as that would make the experience even better.
Tropical Crepecake
If you are up for dessert, get the Tropical Crepecake ($8) that’s filled with fresh passion fruit cream in between the layers and topped with extra crunchy and refreshing fresh fruits. Dense and moist, its cream-to-crepe ratio is just right.
Beverages
Kokoro also boasts an extensive array of beverages that range from organic juices to the staple latte.
Flat White
For a reinvigorating pick-me-up to fight against the afternoon slump, their Flat White ($5) has a smooth and balanced taste, with coffee beans that are made from a blend of Brazil and Columbia.
