A backyard tea bar, pop-up bookstore in a coffee shop, and 10 seater swing

Best known for their shophouses and old-school charm, the Katong and Joo Chiat neighbourhoods have always been places of delicious local fare, durians, and touristy photos. But come 15th and 16th December, they will be given a unique glo-up by MINI and transformed into a playground for adults.

Known as MINI EXTRAODDINARY, the inaugural art trail boasts a total of 18 experiential installations weaved in between conserved shophouses and forgotten alleyways.

Meant to get our creative juices flowing and rethink the use of space, buckle up and explore a pop-up bookstore in the famous Song Kee Fishball Noodle with books curated by the well-loved Basheer Graphic Books, a backyard tea bar by Antea Social where you can sip on an exclusive blend of blue pea tea, and a custom-built 10 seater swing!
We’re looking forward to seeing this space converted into a tea bar! Source:MINI
Adventurers can also dive into an impromptu game at a mini-croquet court, challenge a monstrously-long hopscotch, grab a piece of chalk and doodle all over a communal art piece by illustrator “KROME”, and bring home a postcard set made from a window shutter turned ink stamper, to name a few.
