If you’re not familiar with the Italian tradition of apericena, it’s basically a cross between aperitivo (cocktail hour) and cena (dinner)—kind of a pre-dinner drinks and nibbles situation, or a happy medium of light bites and cocktails without the heaviness of a full-blown dinner affair.

At Crane’s new Apericena event, you’ll get to eat and drink as the Italians do, with free flow pizzas, focaccia, snacks and olives from $25. Your ticket price also includes 1 cocktail (worth $18); or if you don’t drink, you can substitute for another drink. Cocktail options include Aperol Spritz, Raspberry & Dark Chocolate Espresso Martini or Rose & White Pepper Negroni.

Bites are provided by Pomo d’Oro, which is run by a native Italian, so you know you’ll be tasting only the authentic Italian goods. Apericena is priced at $25 when you buy tickets online, and for walk-ins it’s $28 per person. Apericena happens every Thursday from 5pm to 9pm, only at Crane’s Claymore Connect outlet in Orchard.
