Singapore’s first indomie restaurant, Indobowl, has finally made its way here — and it’s every bit worth celebrating because we can now have our favourite spicy Indonesian instant noodles with seafood, satay, and many more!
Brought by the folks behind Telok Ayer’s Royz et Vous, this Indomie-centric restaurant first opened in Kuala Lumpur in 2017. However, the halal eatery uses recipes that span more than 60 years back from Sumatra, Indonesia — so expect the real and authentic stuff here.
We made our way down to Kampong Glam, where the restaurant is at. At 7pm, there was already a long queue that snaked down the entire aisle! So make sure to come down early to avoid waiting for a table on a hungry stomach.
Or you could stare at all the different Indomie packet flavours plastered on their walls and drool longer!
And for sure, we had to try the much raved about Indomie Mumbo Jumbo ($49.90)! This sharing platter for 3-4 people has four packets of Indomie instant noodles, four eggs, chicken, ribeye steak, lamb and satay sticks!
The chilli and sauces are juxtaposed in such a way that you have to eat a bit of everything on the plate in one mouthful. This way, you get the true explosion of flavours! The indomie itself is quite spicy, but we still recommend trying it with the chilli for extra satisfaction.
As the platter was already quite a lot, we didn’t have space to stomach anything else. However, they have other interesting dishes too like Indomie Ayam Bakar ($9.90), Indomie Seafood Goreng ($10.90), and an Indomie Seafood Soto Jumbo ($34.90) too!
Choose from popular beverages like Soda Gembira ($3.50), Soda Jagung ($3.50) and Es Cendol ($3.50). In fact, the gula melaka in the Cendol is made in-house! Additionally, don’t forget to make space for desserts such as Ropang Coklat Keju ($3.90) and Ropang Jagung ($3.90)!
