IKEA ALEXANDRA REOPENS WITH A BRAND NEW LOOK, 50 CENT PHOTOBOOTH, IN-HOUSE BAKERY & FREE GOODIE BAGS!

Free Swedish candy, popcorn and goodie bags with no spending required? Only at the iconic IKEA Alexandra’s upcoming re-opening party this August 2024! IKEA Alexandra has just been revamped with a brand new look, and here’s how you can snag these freebies and more at their opening!

Fun fact: IKEA Alexandra is the very first IKEA store in Singapore, and has been around for nearly 29 years. Since its first opening in 1995, they’ve renovated 3 times; with this latest revamp being 3 years in the making, and costing a whopping $20 million to complete. We got an exclusive first look at the newly-refurbished space, and there’s definitely plenty of exciting things to look forward to during your visit.

To start, IKEA Alexandra has gotten a complete overhaul on their interior: the showrooms and walkways have been widened to allow for more open walking space, plus the interior is made even brighter for a more comfortable and welcoming shopping experience. We also liked how they’ve added even more experiential room sets to the showrooms so you can get even more inspiration for layout and decorating your living room, kitchen, bathroom and more. Overall, walking through the showrooms feels much more intuitive and seamless, making shopping for what you need that much more convenient.

One exciting new addition to the store is the bakery, which was previously only available at the IKEA Tampines outlet. Here is where you can snag fresh bakes and sweet treats like pastries, donuts, muffins and the newly-launched Profiteroles ($7 for 10pcs). There’s also a Swedish Food Market and Swedish Bistro where you can grab cooked food items, snacks, drinks and also frozen food items. On the topic of food, the fan-favourite Swedish Restaurant has also gotten a new facelift, with a lush garden-themed and Scandinavian-inspired vibe. There’s also new family-friendly dining facilities added to the restaurant like a microwave for heating up food and kids/baby utensils available too.

There’s even a photobooth located within the store where you can get instant photo print-outs from just $0.50 each, decorating them with exclusive frame designs and sticker icons too! Other in-store features include more check-out kiosks for greater convenience and less waiting time, plus a dedicated Customer Service Area for any help or inquiries you might have, delivery arrangements, alteration needs and more. For families with kids, the free play area has also been re-opened with a ball pit, toys and TV to keep the little ones entertained while you shop. IKEA Alexandra has also debuted more accessibility features to make shopping more inclusive for all: including allowing guide dogs in-store, wheelchair-friendly amenities and facilities for the hearing impaired too.

Just for their Housewarming Party happening on 24th and 25th August 2024, visitors can look forward to a slew of exciting activities, food offers, discounts and even freebies up for grabs. The first 100 visitors on each day will get a free goodie bag (worth $30) with no spending required (first come first serve). Aside from food offers from the bistro from just $1 each, visitors can also enjoy free Swedish candy from the self-serve candy bar, cotton candy and popcorn with no spending required, while stocks last. There will also be discounts of up to 50% off on selected items in-store starting from just $0.50 each, including some of IKEA’s most popular and bestselling products.
