Only if you’re up for an axe-citing experience like no other
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m a huge scaredy-cat. And yet, there I was, hurling axes in Axe Factor, an axe throwing range with over 10 lanes equipped with real axes that you see in movies set in the Middles Ages.
How did I conquer my fear? Thankfully, the first axe throwing range in Singapore had helpful axe-perts who guided me patiently to hit the bull’s eye and ensured that my practice was safe.
Originating from Canada as a legitimate sport, it’s about time Singaporeans pick up this sport – fit for those ages 15 and above – that will not only benefit your arm strength, but also a complete stress reliever.
In order to feel like Khal Drogo from Game Of Thrones, here’s what you need to know. There are 3 circles you can aim for – black (5 points), red (3 points) and blue (1 point) – and beginners can choose from 3 types of axes but it is recommended that you use the heavier one first.
Axes in their placement holders.
Tip: use the longer axe placed on the black board if it’s your first time throwing
If you’re keen on taking on the expert level, they have a massive axe stashed away in secret too. The longest and heaviest of the lot, be prepared to use a massive amount of arm strength.
Expert’s axe.
Shortest axes which may not be as easy to hit the bull’s eye as they seem.
What’s more, there are coloured lines on the ground to guide you for you to throw the axe with maximum energy.
Besides axe throwing, Axe Factor also has entertaining and thrilling VR games like Haunted Mansion, Beat Saber, Walk The Plank, and even Fruit Ninja!
I seriously recommend Haunted Mansion if you’re a thrill-seeker – it makes you feel like the main character in every horror movie that’s walking through an extremely spooky house alone.
What’s more, here’s a great piece of news if you’re holding a party or gathering soon – there’s a VIP room with a capacity to hold up to 20 people that you can rent for only $350 for 2 whole hours!
Psst… We heard that Axe Factor may even organise an axe throwing competition soon so do keep a lookout for that on their Facebook page here.
