While the grungey Y2K aesthetic is still all the rage right now, a strong contender to the trend is the viral coquette aesthetic—the ultimate girlycore vibe that sees a whole lot of ribbons, ruffles, frills and pastel colours (especially pink). You wouldn’t expect to see these two styles together, but this new café in JB does just that, and it actually works.

Mollylicious Bakes is a new café located just 10 minutes away from the checkpoint, and we foresee it being the next hottest café to visit in JB, especially amongst the Gen Z crowd. The industrial-inspired café merges both the grunge/punk Y2K vibe with the girly coquette-esque aesthetic.

The space features lots of raw, exposed concrete, black accents, leather furnishings and graffiti; all contrasted with soft satin and chiffon decor, inflatable pink “jelly” sofas, ribbon accents and more! There’s so many IG-worthy spots in the café: from the satin-covered furniture, mini inflatable “water fountain”, the concrete staircase—nearly every corner is picture-worthy.

If you’re feeling hungry, they’ve got various pizzas you can order, but the stars of the menu are their specialty drinks and aesthetic vintage-style desserts. Highlights from the menu include the I Want Everything (RM 55), All Cheese Please (RM 44), Tiramisu with Baileys (RM 33), Bubblegum Soda (RM 18) and more.
