GIANT OVERSIZED MACARONS THAT ARE ALMOST LIKE “BURGERS” AT THIS SINGAPORE DESSERT SHOP!

Mega-sized bubble tea, croissants and even cocktails—these are just a couple of the massive upsized treats you can find in Singapore. And now here comes a brand new addition to the list: giant macarons!

Le Musée is a dessert shop in Singapore, and they’re known for their oversized macaron creations in unique flavours. Since macarons are typically pretty small and can be finished in a single bite, Le Musée wanted to create macarons that were more substantial—hence the birth of their oversized macarons.

They also pride themselves on aesthetics, so their macarons aren’t just your regular flavours or colours; they come in various bright and eye-catching hues and unconventional flavours. If you visit their physical store, you’ll also find that each macaron is displayed on individual glass stands, just like an art piece in an exhibition or art gallery. Le Musée not only creates macarons you can eat, they’re creating edible art too.

Their new Le Fruit macaron series features 6 new mega, oversized macarons, each one highlighting a different fruit flavour. The macarons cost $8 apiece, and come in a unique seashell-inspired shape filled with cream that’s piped to look like “pearls” in the macaron shell. Each of these giant macarons are said to be 3 times as big as regular-sized macarons. They’re so big (nearly the size of a palm) that you can almost eat them like you would mini burgers.

Pistachio Berry, $8

Strawberry Yoyo, $8

Blueberry, $8

Melon Parma Ham, $8

Orange White, $8

Tokyo Banana, $8

The Le Fruit series has got both sweet and savoury flavours, but our favourites are the Pistachio Berry ($8) and Orange White ($8); both of which are refreshing and not too sweet. More unique options include the Melon Parma Ham ($8) that has actual parma ham bits for a savoury touch, and the Tokyo Banana ($8) that tastes pretty much identical to the real Tokyo Banana treat.

Le Musée’s macarons are available for pre-order online and pick-ups at their store. You can also walk-in to the store to view the macarons in person before buying, but walk-in purchases are subject to availability.
