Affordable sweet and savoury crepes

The next time you’re craving for some fluffy crepe cakes, head to Galettes – a minimalistic cafe that just popped up a 10-minute walk away from Ang Mo Kio MRT! From crepe cakes and crepe suzettes to savoury bites like chicken wings and sweet potato fries, Galettes is a one-stop place in the heartlands that’ll leave you satisfied without burning a hole in your pocket.
Upon entering Galettes, you will be greeted with a fresh and modern interior filled with brightly-lit spaces, wooden tables and a clean IKEA-esque aesthetic. The best part about the cafe’s interior is that it’s spacious enough for us to not worry about it being overcrowded during peak hours!

Crepe Suzette ($12.50)
Get your phones ready to take some sick Boomerang shots as the Crepe Suzette will be flambéed right in front of your eyes! Made with freshly-made crepes, juicy slices of orange, Cointreau (alcohol), Galette’s signature sweet sauce and a scoop of vanilla gelato!
At first bite, I immediately fell in love with how well the crepe went with the secret sauce and orange slices! It was a perfect symphony of tangy and sweet in my mouth without any bitterness from the alcohol thanks to the sweetness of the gelato!
Cherry Jubilee ($12.50)
Similar to the Crepe Suzette, the the Cherry Jubilee will be flambéed right in front of your eyes so you know what to do. Cherry Jubilee has freshly-made crepes topped with dark cherries, Cherry Brandy (alcohol), signature cherry sauce and a chocolate gelato! It may take some getting used to as this dish has a bitter aftertaste. However, the sweet cherries and rich chocolate gelato will tone down the bitterness.
Dark Chocolate Crepe Cake ($6.50)
If you’re a chocolate-lover, the Dark Chocolate Crepe Cake is the perfect dessert for you! With rich chocolate whipped cream layered in between soft and fluffy crepes, this dessert has the perfect creme-to-crepe ratio with a very nice chocolatey taste that will keep you satisfied all day! Plus, the dark chocolate isn’t bitter at all!
Strawberry Crepe Cake ($6.50)
The Strawberry Crepe Cake is light and slightly sweet with delicious strawberry whipped cream in between the layers. I personally liked how the strawberry whipped cream wasn’t overly cloying, and makes for a good “treat yo’self” indulgence!
Matcha Latte ($6)
The Matcha Latte has a full-bodied flavour that will warm you up instantly!
There are a variety of drinks you can choose from – fine teas like Chamomile and Longan Paradise, coffee, craft beers, ciders and more!
Cappuccino ($4.50)
For a reinvigorating pick-me-up, opt for the Cappuccino which has a smooth and balanced taste which will definitely lighten you up from all the desserts you’ve had!
