Ever wished you could experience the classic lantern scene from Tangled in real life? Now you won’t have to travel all the way to Taiwan or Thailand for their iconic sky lantern festivals, you can experience the magical sight right here in Singapore!

Singapore’s first-ever Sky Lantern Festival will be coming to Sentosa for one day only, on 21st February 2024! It’ll be a full day fun and vibes, starting from 3pm to 10pm, and the programme flow is as follows:
3pm – Music Festival
7pm – Grand Ceremony
7.30pm – Lantern Release
9.30pm – Ceremony Ends
10pm – After Party

Note that unlike sky lantern festivals overseas, you won’t be able to release the lanterns freely into the sky—for safety reasons. The biodegradable lanterns used will be tethered to the ground with bamboo string, and after your lantern is lit you can float it into the sky up to 60 metres. Once the candle subsides, make sure to retrieve your lantern via the string and dispose of it properly!

Feel free to bring along your own mats, foldable chairs and blankets while enjoying the various cultural performances, live music and DJ sets at the festival! There will also be a food bazaar where you can get food and drinks from various vendors. Admission to the Sky Lantern Festival in Singapore starts from $50 per person, and you can pre-reserve your tickets here, while stocks last.
