Yamada Beancurd is a popular dessert truck stationed within a carpark at Taman Pelangi, less than 10 minutes away from the checkpoint. They’re only open on Wednesday to Sunday, from 6pm to 10pm, and sell out pretty much every day that they’re open. Yamada sells their homemade traditional beancurd from the back of their truck that’s been converted into a makeshift “stall”. You’ll also see wooden barrels of freshly-made beancurd on display, which they will scoop from directly to order.

Yamada also makes their own homemade toppings (from RM2; ~$0.50 SGD) that you can add to your bowl, like brown sugar pearls, peach gum, sweet potato balls, taro balls, red bean, grass jelly and more. They also provide a couple of tables and stools for you to sit and enjoy your beancurd desserts while they’re fresh, or you can also takeaway.
