Got a sweet tooth? Yet another dessert spot will be opening soon in Singapore, and this time it’s the famous 100-year old Dutch patisserie and chocolaterie, Huize van Wely! The award-winning pastry shop has been around since 1922, and is beloved in the Netherlands, with outposts in Amsterdam, Haarlem, Heemstede and more. Huize van Wely Singapore will be a 42-seater space situated at the ground floor of Raffles Hotel Singapore. They’re set to open sometime in October 2024.

Huize van Wely’s Singapore branch will mark the iconic brand’s second foray into the Asian market, with the first being in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Singapore brand will also debut a new elevated tea room and bar concept, and is set to be the very first outpost with a dine-in space and menu. While the Singapore menu has yet to be confirmed for now, you can expect the likes of signature desserts, cakes, high tea sets and ice cream; as well as fine wines, champagne and cocktails from the bar.

The dessert shop is known for their exquisite and aesthetic pastries, desserts and ice cream, especially their signature Champagnecake: a boozy layered sponge cake of white chocolate, Moët and Chandon champagne cream, marzipan and dark chocolate. Another treat to look out for include their Bouchées: gourmet chocolate bon bons that are painstakingly layered and coated with ganache, gianduja, marzipan and chocolate.
