Coffee connoisseurs and café hoppers alike might be familiar with the brand Equate Coffee, known for their good and honest coffees, as well as house-baked seasonal pastries like their iconic canelés and more. If you already know and love their original Tanjong Plaza outlet, you’ll definitely be wowed by their brand new second outlet at Orchard Central!
Unlike their first outlet that focussed more on minimalistic design, with clean and bright white and gold tones accented with marble, the Orchard Central outlet is much more moody and artistic.
The first thing that’ll catch your eye is probably the two uprooted trees planted smack in the middle of the café, and to make things even more interesting—the trees are even placed upside down! Sit in between the trees for some of the best and most unique photo ops.
The entire café gives off the vibe of a mini jungle, surrounded with plenty of lush greenery all around. Equate Coffee also brings a new meaning to the phrase “concrete jungle”, as all the abundant natural elements are juxtaposed with the raw, unfinished textures of concrete.
Like the original outlet, you’ll also find gold accents throughout the café, making every inch of the space ultra mesmerising and photo-worthy.
Another plus for the Orchard Central outlet is the fact that it comes with a fully-equipped kitchen, so in addition to bakes you’ll also be able to enjoy a decent selection of sides and sandos along with your coffee. Highlights from the menu include Spam Truffle Egg Mayo Sando ($13.80), Tonkatsu Sando ($15.80), Hazelnut Chocolatine ($7.80), Onion Rings ($8.80) and more. Note that as the café is still in their soft launch phase, some items on the menu might not be available yet.
