Thailand is known for lots of things: food, shopping, and also…herbal inhalers. These viral inhalers are a must-buy souvenir for those visiting Thailand, and have only grown even more popular after K-pop star Lisa from BLACKPINK also expressed her love for the item. If you’re also an inhaler addict, there’s a unique workshop in Bangkok where you can actually DIY your very own giant jumbo-sized inhaler!

First Aid Kiss – House of Scents and Beauty is a specialty fragrance retail store with a couple outlets in Bangkok, with the most convenient one located right in the city centre at Siam Square 1; and they’ve just launched a new workshop where you can DIY your own herbal inhalers from scratch. The DIY Herbal Inhaler giant inhaler comes with a jumbo-sized inhaler container filled with 3 regular-sized 25g inhalers. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to fill up the entire giant inhaler tub itself with herbal ingredients. The customisation is limited to the 3 regular-sized inhaler tubs, and the giant inhaler tub is meant to store your finished products.

Pick from a variety of over 10 different herbal ingredients including camphor, cinnamon, black pepper, clove, nutmeg, kaffir lime leaves and more—each offering various benefits like decongestion, headache relief and improved concentration, among others. From their socials and other posts on the workshop there doesn’t seem to be any limit on how many ingredients you can include, and after selecting all your favourites, you can crush and pound them using a pestle and mortar to release the scents before adding a special menthol concoction to the mixture.

After transferring your herbal mixture to the individual jars, you can also add additional scents/fragrances like peach, coconut, jasmine, bergamot and oolong, just to name a couple. Once you’re done, you can even jazz up your inhaler tubs with decorations like stickers, ribbons and gemstones to make it extra personal! The DIY Herbal Inhaler workshop is priced at 899 baht per set (~$33.70 SGD per set).
