Everyone loves Japanese milk buns―but these milk buns by home-based business Rakki are something else.
Not your average Japanese milk buns: these rotund and fluffy buns are crammed with soft and squishy mochi, along with fillings like red bean and black sesame paste. Currently Rakki only offers small-batch Omakase Bake Sales for the milk mochi buns, with flavours set to change seasonally.
So far, flavours offered in the box include matcha and black sesame milk buns. Each box of Milk Buns with Mochi ($27) comes with 9 perfectly soft and squishy pull-apart buns.

Rakki has only started selling these buns in July this year, but they’ve already garnered a tremendous cult following on social media, with the first edition of the mochi milk buns selling out in a flash. Since the buns are highly sought after, with slots being snapped up in 15 minutes, you’ll want to keep a lookout on Rakki’s Instagram stories for information on the next drop.
