A perfect beach vacation is not complete without a killer swimsuit, shades, sunblock and… lodging from Anantara Resorts & Spas. Here’s what’s more exciting: you no longer have to book a flight to Thailand or beyond to enjoy the Anantara experience, as the luxury hotel group will be bringing their world-class accommodation to Desaru.
Scheduled to open on 1 December 2019, Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas will be part of Desaru’s plans to reintroduce itself as Asia’s new luxury resort destination. Apart from idyllic beaches and lush foliage, what’s different about this new location is that it’s architectural design resembles traditional Malay buildings and is fitted with indigenous materials and fabrics such as woven textiles.
Designed by Singapore architect firm WOW Architects & Warner Wong Design, and interiors by Malaysia’s Environment Design Consultants, the 123-room property will boast 90 deluxe guest rooms overlooking the ocean; thirteen standalone bedroom pool villas; and 20 three and four-bedroom residences that come with an infinity pool, full kitchen and butler services.
Facilities include Sea.Fire.Salt., a specialty grill and seafood restaurant; an observatory bar; Dining By Design, Anantara’s signature private dining experience and more.
Getting to the resort is fuss-free too: catch a 30-minute ride from Changi Ferry Terminal and a 30-minute car ride after, or drive directly from Singapore which will take around two hours.
