Sushi Guren is one of the newest additions to the omakase scene in Singapore, and as an opening special, they’re offering a thoughtfully curated 12-course sushi omakase for just $48+ per person (UP. $68+ per person), with no GST, only service charge.

The omakase course includes seasonal appetisers, chawanmushi, 7 pieces of sushi, signature hand roll and fish bone broth udon. The items served in the omakase vary daily, but during our lunch visit, we enjoyed a variety of both raw and aburi-ed items, including some premium sashimi cuts like Botan Ebi, Otoro, Gizzard Shad, Unagi, Shima Aji and more.

Don’t expect any showy presentation during the omakase itself, just fresh and good quality no-frills sushi served in a fuss-free manner. One of our favourites from the course has got to be their signature Torotaku Hand Roll, featuring minced tuna mixed with radish, leeks and crispy rice puffs. This item is featured in all their lunch and dinner omakases, and is definitely the highlight of the course.
Overflowing Ikura Gunkan
Signature Fish Bone Broth Udon
You also have the option to add on their a la carte Overflowing Ikura Gunkan ($10+ per piece), that’s topped with 3 generous scoops of ikura. The overflowing ikura gunkan is not included in their lunch omakase courses, but is included for their dinner omakase. To end off the meal, you’ll be served a comforting bowl of their Signature Fish Bone Broth Udon, and the broth is made from simmering fish bones and heads. We liked how the broth itself tasted clean and light, albeit a tad too oily for our liking.
High Ball, $10
To pair with your omakase, they’ve also got affordable alcoholic drinks from just $10, including options like Mizkan Shu ($10), High Ball ($10), Lemon Sour ($10) and more.
