There’s another famous Japanese snack chain that’s landing in Singapore this year, and it’s one for the curry lovers! Kamakura’s popular curry bun chain, Giraffa, is opening its first-ever outlet in Singapore by end-December 2024 at Westgate.

Giraffa is dubbed as “the most popular cheese curry bread in Japan”, having won the Japanese Golden Award for 3 consecutive years. They’re famed for their curry bread—duh—that’s stuffed with a spiced curry and meat filling, plus stretchy cheese. The curry and cheese filling is wrapped with a specially formulated light and sweet milk-flavoured batter before being deep fried for the crispiest texture.

Their curry is said to be seasoned with 30 different spices, so you can probably expect to taste a curry flavour that’s savoury, rich and aromatic. Prices for Giraffa’s curry bread in Singapore have yet to be announced; but in Japan, buns are priced at 450 yen apiece (~$3.90 SGD each).
