You might’ve seen the viral “strained” or “dehydrated” yogurt on socials like Douyin or Xiaohongshu—a unique, thick-style yogurt that comes decorated with aesthetic colours and toppings. If you’ve been curious about how these viral yogurt treats taste like, head to bobo’s fruit bar: a new build-your-own yogurt spot in Singapore with the trending “dry yogurt” that even comes in “surprise” designs!
bobo’s fruit bar is located at the ground floor of a condominium, within walking distance from NUS halls; and is said to be Singapore’s first-ever Dry Yogurt Bar. What is dry yogurt, you ask? It’s kind of like a Greek-style yogurt, where regular yogurt is strained for over 48 hours to give you a much more thick and concentrated yogurt, with a texture that’s more like cream cheese or ice cream.
bobo’s Dry Yogurt Bowls are priced at $14 each, and come topped with crunchy cinnamon granola and various fresh fruits. Each yogurt bowl will also be shaped into fun “surprise” shapes, making the bowls look extra aesthetic. So far, they’ve got designs like a flower, teddy bear, bunny, koala and ghost; but you probably won’t know which design you’ll be getting when you order, and they’ll also be coming up with new designs in future.
Sassy Strawberry, $14
Groovy Grape, $14
Merry Mango, $14
There’s 3 flavours available for the Dry Yogurt Bowls: Groovy Grape ($14), Merry Mango ($14) and Sassy Strawberry ($14). Taste-wise, the only difference with regular yogurt is in the texture and mouthfeel: the dry yogurt feels much more filling compared to regular yogurt since it’s so thick and creamy.
They even managed to make us a special Labubu Bowl that looks pretty similar to the actual character. But if you’d like this special Labubu design for your dry yogurt bowl, note that it costs $28 instead of $14 because of the complexity of the design; and you’ll need to DM them on Instagram to place a pre-order at least 1 day in advance, subject to availability.
Aside from dry yogurt bowls, they’ve also got the viral sticky yogurt buckets (from $7) with build-your-own options where you can pick any of the fresh fruits or toppings you want; along with fresh fruit smoothies made with yogurt, waffles, coffee and more.
